    Atomic Clock and Time Dissemination Rooms
    National Research Council Canada, INMS, Ottawa, Ontario

    This project requires extremely exacting temperature and humidity control (+/- 0.1°C and +/- 2.5% RH) at all times and with total reliability of systems. NRC chose Miriton to design the systems because of our experience in close temperature and humidity control and our dependability in delivering the correct solutions.

    This project will give Canada’s atomic clocks a much-needed new home; one that will reliably help maintain their international standing.

    Data Centre CRAC Units
    SNC-Lavalin O&M, Ottawa, Ontario

    The operator of a large data centre in Ottawa wanted to replace their entire cooling systems with systems that would have better reliability, complete redundancy, and more accurate temperature and humidity control. They also required the replacement work to be completed while the data centre was fully operational, so they chose Miriton for the job.

    This project will give the data centre operator the uninterrupted operation and critical environment they require.

  • Recent Work 3

    Jean Talon Building - Generator, Fuel Tanks and Fire Pump Replacement
    SNC-Lavalin O&M, Ottawa, Ontario

    As part of an asset renewal program certain of the major life safety systems at the this high-rise building needed replacement and upgrade.

    Miriton was hired to design replacements for critical life safety equipment without affecting the day-to-day operation of the building. The emergency generator installation was replaced and upgraded, the diesel fuel tanks and fire pump installations were relocated and renewed at the same time and their support systems also upgraded.

    The implementation of all these replacements has been carefully planned and is ensuring that these crucial life safety systems remain in operation throughout the duration of the projects. Further, the new installations have been designed to be fully compliant with modern codes and regulations.

    7th and 8th Floor Fit-up
    Fairmont Chateau Laurier, Ottawa, Ontario

    To accommodate new office tenants on two floors of this prestigious hotel, the base building services were completely gutted and reinstated. Miriton successfully completed the design under a compressed schedule and with respect to the heritage nature of this building.

    Fuel Conversions
    AECL, Chalk River, Ontario

    AECL is undertaking a number of energy efficiency improvement projects at its Chalk River laboratories in Ontario. One of these projects entails the conversion of the central heating plant from oil to gas to improve both the efficiency and the reliability of the systems.

    Miriton has been engaged by an energy services company to assist them in the design and implementation of a number of fuel conversion projects throughout this campus. These projects include steam to gas heating conversions, energy efficient equipment installations and operational improvements.
